Las Americas 6 Tortilleria is a family owned and operated business that makes thousands of fresh tortillas daily. The tortillas are 100% natural, made without any preservatives. The process takes time, and includes prep work the day before to make sure every day’s batch comes out right. The owners cook the corn, let it set, wash them up, and rinse it out. The next day, they grind it with two stones, and they create the masa and process it into tortillas. The business sells tortillas directly to customers as well as to Edwards Market, and sells other baked goods and products like chicharrones. On weekends, they’ll cook carnitas or barbacoa and sell tacos. The business is operated by a husband and wife team and their two daughters. Customers can pick up fresh tortillas from Las Americas from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day except Wednesday.
